I was born in 1969 in Canada to English parents. My father was trained as a cathedral organist at Guild Hall, London and my mother had taught ballet and acted in amateur theater. We moved to England in 1973 (sadly too young to understand Punk at the time) and then came to Australia when I was 5.
I tried to learn recorder, violin and harpsichord as a child but I never really felt that I was making music (perhaps because I never practiced enough). It wasn't till I was 17 that I really decided that I wanted to pursue music as a career. I intended to be a producer for other people's music (like Alan Parsons, Conny Plank or Brian Eno) but life being what it is, I ended up becoming a composer with synthesizers as my players.
I have a great need to create things all the time so writing music is one of the best ways that I know to fulfil this need. I only hope that some day I can make a living from this passion. These days I also spend a lot of time creating musical instruments and effects.
In my day job I work as a salesman for a Web Design
Co. and then dance Rockabilly & Rock & Roll evenings and weekends
which I enjoy very much - that's me in my favourite T-shirt at Wintersun 2006
with my partner dancing in a shopping centre in the afternoon.
In my car
I tend to listen to mostly Country Music. Why Country? Well I love the
simplicity and honesty of the stories. And I dream of having a really big hat
and boots, but sadly the hat would mess up my hair and cowboy boots are crap for
dancing in.
